The old abbey is situated behind the Catholic Church. The ruins that are seen of the old abbey were once in a beautiful Church belonging to the monks of long ago. There is mound on the top of the hill about two-hundred yds. from the old abbey.
The stone chair is still to be seen in Blackstaff where the Lord Mayor used to sit when he would be making the waws for the people and judging a person, there is also a crock of gold in the same field.
