The name of the feasts are:- Christmas, Easter, Hallowe Eve, Mayeve, and St. Brigids feast which is celebrated on the second of February. Of these five feasts Hallow'en is the one which has most customs attached to it. Some of these customs are:- The children get a big apple and hang it from the roof with a cord and nail. When the apple is down where the children can reach to it, one child at a time tries to get as many bites as she can either that or get the whole apple without putting a hand near it. If one of the children get the apple of the nail, then that child gets the apple for herself.Another of the customs which the children perform is:- They get a dish and fill it with cold water. Then get a sixpense from their Father or Mother. They fix the sixpense in the centre, on the bottom of the dish of water. Then one of the children stripped(continues on next page)
