(On account of Fionn having so much contact with Fincarn and Aghnafarcan, it is a remarkable fact that a great number of the people in this district can relate the story. It is more remarkable still to think that Irish was spoken here by the old people until a few decades ago, and that in telling this story to their sons who knew little or no Irish they had recourse to a great many Irish words. It is probable that this story is absolutely true.)
