- Owen Hardy, Drummond, Co. Louth, was a famous rope-maker. He could make one rope in a day. He used to bring them to Dundalk in a donkey and cart.
- Owen Heron, Carickakelly, Innisken, Co. Monaghan, was a great churn and barrel maker. He used sell them at four shillings each.
