  3. About seventy years ago, the playground attached to this school was used as a bleaching green. The flax was grown and cured in the surrounding fields. It was then woven into coarse linen, and spread out to bleach. Patrick Fitzpatrick of Candlefort, Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan, was my informant.
