In Knockreas, Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan, there is a very large tree. A priest used to say mass under this tree. When he used hear the soldiers coming he used hide behind a rock, that was behind the tree. There is a path still pointed out where the people around there used go secretly to hear mass. My father told me, that his grandfather told him, that he remembers when that tree was planted.
