    it is started until it is finished. When the butter comes on the milk we hear it beating against the sides of the churn. It is a very welcome sound to the person who is churning.
    Water is put in from time to time to settle the butter and harden it to lift it out. It is very soft in the summer time. The butter is lifted out with the butter board.
    Every utensil connected with butter making must be well scalded.
