"Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth, Wednesday is the best day of all, Thursday for losses, Friday for crosses and Saturday is no day at all."
After the marriage the wedding breakfast is usually held in the house of the bride and the party then spend the day at the sea-side or driving through the country. That night a dance is held in the house of the married couple and only invited guests are present. It is usual for the local youths to gather and light a fire outside. Unless they get a drink from the man who is married they remain around the house till morning cheering, shouting and throwing stones up on the roof. Several times lately the Guards had to be sent for to make those young men go home.
Matches are made locally during match making the amount of the dowry is fixed and the man must show that he is not in debt and tell also how much money he has.
