    "Sprit" or "Sprat" and which was the most suitable class of material from which to make the ropes.
    The ropes are made by two persons one to "Let out" the rope as it is called and another usually a little boy or girl to twist it. A special article was used to twist the rope and this was also made at home. It was commonly called a "Trahook" in this district but the name "Twister" was very commonly applied also.
