- If the stars are twinkling or moving about much in the sky it is the sign of rain. Swallows flying low is also a sign of rain.
Another sign of it is the smoke blowing down. Other ones are a mist in front of the moon or a circle around.
If rain falls with a westerly wind it is usually very cold. When the hills or mountains look far away it's the sign of good weather when they are dark it is a sign of rain. Spiders are often seen in empty pails or basins when rain is near. Dark frogs are a sign of rain.- Collector
