  1. Once upon a time when the English conquered Ireland there were two men hung up on a tree at Knox's Corner, and an ancient relative of Dick Smyth's was in hiding and he cut down the men from the tree as the invaders were gone. Those two people were never the same from that on.
    One of them was blind and neither of them had their speech from that on.
