  1. On St. Stephen's Day boys dress up and go round to hunt the wren. They tie bunches of straw around their legs and put queer hats on them. They also sing songs. Here is one of the songs they sing.

    about eight miles from Rathangan Co Kildare. Shanavoola means an old milking place.
    2) There is another local village called Lullymore which means a big patch of grazing land.
    3) There is a field in Lullymore called the Cludog, which means a small hoard of hazel.
    4) There is another field in that district called the Calagor, and it means the rushy field.
    5) There is a village called Barnaran abought eight miles from Rathangan,
    Co Kildare. Barnaran means a gap between two divisions.
