    About the year 1835 an old man of the name of Donnelly dreamed, or pretended to have dreamed, that Fionn Mac Cool's treasure was buried in a cave near the south-west extremity of the Hill of Allen, and communicated his vision to the people in the neighbourhood. He told them that in order to make his way to the treasury, it would be necessary to blast some rocks which stopped
