rendering shout, which almost froze his blood, and bursting in the door he fell senseless on the floor.
When he recovered he told the occupants of the house his story, but to his surprise they had heard nothing. A certain lady in Mountrath once kept a dog that was white and a bell was on it's neck. One time this dog strayed away and the lady offered a reward for it's return.
As a man was returning from his rambles one night he heard the bell tinkling and then saw a small dog approaching him, he thought to himself," I will catch this dog and get the reward".He made an attempt to catch it,but immediately it dashed through the ditch in a ball of fire. Falling on his knees he crept to his own door which luckily was very near, but he never afterwards went to catch a dog at night no matter what was the reward.
