  1. Long ago a family the name of Lanes lived in Bardwin near Behan's house.
They were a very poor family. The ruins of the house in not now to be seen. The father is order to get the children to go to bed, used to say to each child "what good child will go to bed if I give him a penny". They would all answer in their turn and say "I will". Now they all went to bed delighted with their pence. When they woke up in the mornings they felt very hungry and came quickly for their breakfast. So their father would say to them "I cannot give any child his breakfast if has not a penny".
The children would freely give up their pence for their breakfast. So in this way he used to spare one meal every day without any expense.
