    An Anvil is the most useful piece of steel in a Blacksmiths workshop. He can't get on without an anvil. It is erected near his fire. It is flat on the top and comes to a point called the beck horn.
    This is used for turning shoes and hooks and bends all iron when it is hot enough. There are two holes with sharp edges on them in the other end to hold Wedges. These are used to cut iron what ever lenght it us required. You just leave the iron on it and use the sledge. A good Anvil lasts for a long time. You could hear the
