    When we are going to play the farmer wants a wife we all get into a ring then one goes round and gets a wife and she gets a maid and she gets a man and he gets a dog then they all get into the ring again except the dog who becomes the farmer and so the game begins again. While we are playing we sing. The farmer wants a wife. The farmer wants a wife heigho to Jericho the farmer wants a wife. The wife wants a maid the wife wants a maid heigho to Jericho the wife wants a maid. The maid wants a man the maid wants a man heigho to Jericho the maid wants a man. The man wants a dog the man wants a dog heigho to Jericho the man wants a dog.
