- St Brigid is the patron saint of Ballybuggy. Ballybuggy is about 1 and a half miles from Rathdowney.There was a convent there long ago and when she was coming from (Killbreedy?) she visited it. She knelt on a rock to pray and ever after the marks of her head and knees can be still seen on that rock.Anyone that has a headache gets cured when he puts his head on the rock.There is a (bush?) beside the rock called St Brigid's bush and people leave tokens of (rags?) or (?) after them and nobody ever takes them.This story was told to me by Mr (Barber?) of(continues on next page)
