    some of the signs by which the people in this locality foretell when there is going to be rain. The points which we are most likely to expect rain from in this district are the South and South-East.
    They say that if the smoke goes straight out of the chimney into the sky, it is a good sign of a fine day. The fog going up the mountains, and the sheep lying long in the morning are also good signs of fine weather. When the birds fly high, and when there is dust on the road-ways they denote fine weather.
