The vessels used for drinking were called "Noggins". These were round wooden vessels like a mug but a straight handle stood up at one side.There were "trenchers" on every dresser and these were scoured as white as snow. They were shaped like plates but more hollow.Keelers (tubs) and cream stans were in every house.
