- The nearest ancient road is situated about half a mile from our house. It was called the Ross road. About half way on this road there was a town called the town of Ross.
There is no trace of it nowadays and only very old people have a knowledge of where it was situated.
There are the ruins of an old church beside where the road was, and there is also a lime kiln, so these ruins show that this road was at one time an important one. There was a Mass path leading from Bawnaughra lane to the church in Ross upon which the people travelled to and from Mass.- Collector
