  2. There was a man in Grange, Ballybrophy, named Tim Bergin who composed songs, one of which was "The Shades of Knockaroo" and another about hurlers named "The Boys of Knockaroo."

  3. About seventy years ago there were some great musicians in Borris and they had one of the most famous brass bands in Ireland composed of seventy-two men provided with various brass instruments.
    On one occasion they marched to Thurles to the Bishop's palace. First they played all the old national airs and after that the Bishop asked if they could play hymns and they played the "Adeste Fidelis" and
