   Flour Mills there.
   Mr. William Roe bought the woollen factory and converted it into a flour mill. He sold it to Mr. Fintan Wallis who ground corn there until quite recently. This Mr. Roe also owned another mill called "The Lower Mill" down at the end of the convent farm. This was sold to Mr. Telford and the convent bought the land. This mill is still used. A third flour mill was owned by Richard Neill near the Bridge in Coote Street. The ruins of this mill are to be seen in Moloney's yard. Inscription on interior of walls says it was built by Mr. Calcutt (grandfather or grand-uncle of the present man) in 1775. Here every kind of meal was ground until about 1891. When Richard Neill, who was a Quaker, died, Coote got it and his agent Mr. Franks sold the house and ruins of mill to Mr. Moloney about 1895 and the land between the race and the river
