    Matthew Hanbury. (Matt the Liar) made baskets and lived in Coote Street.
    Spinning and Weaving.
    There was a weaving factory at Shannon Bridge and the employees' houses extended to Woodbrook. There was also a dying factory in Shannon Street.
    Butchers
    There were sixty butchers in the town in order to supply the population in Mountrath at that? time.
    Coopers
    The Ducey Brothers, William, Francis and Tom lived at Church St and made churns and barrels. Their people before them were coopers also. Wallis Brothers who were Protestants were wheel-makers.
    Nail-making
    There were several nail makers in the town, Mr. Wallis, Mr. Reilly and Mr. Rock Adderly.
