  1. Buried Treasure
    There is a wood called Tougher Wood on the road to Portlaoighise from Mountrath in which there a hill called Broder’s hill and in that hill Gold is hidden by the fairies and on that hill also is a stone and it is said that there is some magic over it because, if anyone went to lift it and did lift it, it would be in the same place in the morning. The stone is a white round one, about ten or eleven cwt. The fairies are guarding the gold every night. It is supposed to be that Broder’s White Horse came over from Broder’s hill every night
