The Woodquest.
When the Woodquest is saying cu it is saying. The robin and the wren have nine or ten and I have only too.
Here is a ryme that they people around the Oak say:-
The cuckoo builds no nest all.
But midst the wood she strays.
Until she finds one snug and warm
And there her eggs she lays.
The skylarks rest among the grass
And oft times disagree.
The owl will build inside a barn
or in a hollow tree.
The cuckoo is a small bird.
She sings as she flies.
She brings us good tidings.
And tells us no lies.
She suck the may flower,
To make her voice clear,
