As I went out walking one morning in June.

    (continued from previous page)
    1.
As I went out walking one morning in June.
To view the green fields the meadows in bloom.
I spied a fair damsel she appeared like a queen.
In her costly fine robe around her mantle so green.
    2.
I stood in amaze and struck with surprise.
I thought she was an angel that fell from the skies.
Her eyes like the diamonds her cheeks like the rose
She is one of the fairest that nature composed.
    3.
I said my pretty fair maid wont you come with me.
We will both join in wedlock and married we'll be.
You will dress in your rich attire you'll appear like a queen.
In your costly fine robe around your mantle so green.
