  1. A Fenian Song

Cheen up, my boys , with heart and hand,

    I
Cheer up, my boys, with heart and hand,
And think of New Year's Day.
As we raise our flag of freedom with
    Our banners light and gay.
As we marched the green we wore the green,
    We cheered on every brae,
To bring freedom to old Ireland,
And a happy New Year's day.
And the harp of Ireland's freedom
Was sounded on New Year's Day.
    II
The bands they came ["home" crossed out] to meet us and
They marched in ranks so gay.
To bring freedom to old Ireland,
And a happy New Year's Day.
they assembled in their thousands all
    From Easkey and Dromore
With their ship out on the ocean as
They row their boats to shore.
They assembled in their thousands all,
    From Sligo and Knocknarea,
And the pride of all Tir Éire was
    The Fenian men that day.
