- A Story 20-1-'39
One night a man was coming from rambling and when he was in the field near his own house he heard a noise like the rattling of chains he got afraid and began to walk fast till he got across the ditch into his own garden and the noise of the chains were coming nearer and nearer till it came to the end of the house and when the man was unlocking the door the chains were rattling almost beside him and he could see nothing. So he went into the house, and was greatly frightened In a few nights after he went rambling to the same house again and was coming home about ten o'clock and in the same place he heard the same noise again and he went astray. He heard horses galloping and saw big lights all around him. He could not find his own house till twelve o'clock that night The man near died with fear and never went out rambling after night since this story is quite true and only happened a few weeks ago. I know the man quite well.- Collector
