(continued from previous page)He told Jim that there was a hungry devil after him and he had to keep throwing him the porridge So Jim returned home and Jack with him When he reached the door he saw all the cows lying dead. So he knew Jack had cut the legs off them. Then they were poorer than ever and they had to go tamping about the world. Jim told Jack to pull the door after him and Jack brought the door on his back and they went into a wood and before they were long there they saw robbers coming and they went up on a tree and Jack had the door on his back and he brought it up the tree with him. When the robbers came they sat under the tree and started to count their money The door was getting too heavy for back so he had to let it face down the tree. When robbers heard this terrible noise coming down through the branches the thought the sky was falling and they fled for their(continues on next page)- Collector
