and the blackbird lays an egg with a brown spot. the water hen builds her nest by the river and lays a white egg the grouse and the phesant builds their nests in the bog the corncrake builds her nest in the meadow and lays four white eggs. The cuckoo (comes out she throws out the other birds and keeps the nest for herself.) is a very lazy bird for she does not go to the trouble to build a nest of her own but lays her egg in the nest of another bird. When the young cuckoo comes out she is far bigger than any of the other birds and so she pushes all the other little birds out of the nest and keeps it all for herself.
The swallow is a migratory bird she builds her nest on the eve of houses and barns.
