A police barrack, until quite recently stood near the well. It is said that a sergeant's wife, who had just come to the district, once endeavoured to boil the water of the inner well, but failed signally though she persevered for hours.
Stations were performed at the well until recently. It is said people visited this well for the cure of St. Vitus' Dance. The pattern is still held on St. Attracta's feast day, August 11th.
St. Attracta baptised at this well. Local residents call the well Toba Aragh (Aragh being probably some contraction for Attracta)
