- There was a barn in Corraghard where a teacher named Patrick Cummons taught school. Madden's now is. They gave him money and sometimes food. He slept in the barn. The children had an English Reading book and a slate to write on. There was no Irish ever taught there and there were no seats or no blackboard in it. He stopped a month in each district. He used to teach a few hours every night.
