    Our local landlord was C.M.O'Connor of Mountdruide. The O'Connors have been settled in our districts for about a century. They were extremely good and generous to their tenants and they were looked upon as very kind landlords. They never evicted tenants who were not able to pay their way, but always helped them out as far as can be remembered. The O'Connors inherited Mountdruide and the property from their ancestors.
