    in the village of Rathcroghan. This school was held in a farmers house. Master Dillion was the name of the teacher. He was a native of Frenchpark. He would walk it home every fine evening.
    The subjects he taught were Arithmetic, Reading, Spelling and Catechism. He taught all these subjects in English. The pupils used slates and pencils for writing. The Senior pupils used quill pens. The books they had were written by hand and were very dear. These books were supplied by the teacher.
    The seats they had were planks of wood each side of the house
