    a cross day, because it is not lucky for a woman to go into a house before the opposite sex on that day. Some people would not give milk away or give out money on the first day of May. Some people still believe in tying posies to a stick and leaving them to wither for good luck for the year.
    Some people believe in sowing crops on certain dates for luck. They regard Good Friday as being a lucky day for sowing crops. Crops are supposed to be late and a failure if sown after 23rd of April or the call of the cuckoo.
    The three last days of March are called the the 'Revogue days.' Very hard winds blows on these days. It is supposed that the march wind burns up grass.
