    Hoare's forge is situated in the village of Ruskey. The River Shannon runs near it. There is a window and two doors on it. The roof is made from Iron.

  2. There are three forges in the Parish of Kilglass. The forges are Bracken's, Hoare's and Hands. Hores forges is in the town of Ruskey Hands forge is on the side of the road at Knockhall. Bracken also lives in Knockhall. None of their fathers were blacksmiths. They make shoes for horses and gate's and tyre's for carts, they also mend ploughs and harrows. The fire place is made of stones. The blacksmiths do not always use coal sometimes the(y) use turf to shoe a wheel. They put a row of turf around the (fire) tyre and leave it there for an hour. Then when the tyre is taken out it is red and put on the wheel. Then when it is a while on the tyre it is thrown into water to cool. There was an old forge at Hoare's Hill but it is not there now. There was a stream running beside the forge. Hoare's forge is near the River Shannon. But there is no stream near Bracken's or Hand's
