- Churning.
We have a churn at home. The length of the churn is four feet and a half. The breadth of the bottom is three feet, and the breadth of the top is two feet. The sides of the churn are round. It stands on the ground and is churned by means of a long dash. The churn is about twenty years old.
The various parts of the (chun) churn are. the dash, the sides, the bottom and the joggler.
The dash is a long stick with a piece of wood on the top of it. The joggler is like a saucer but made of wood and a hole in the middle of it. It is used for taking the butter out of the churn. There is a mark on the lid and on the top of the churn.(continues on next page)
