  1. In C - V - my lovely home
    I was sitting all alone
    Before the turf fire bright
From my seat upon a chair
I have seen a picture rare
    Shining in lamp - light.
    And forever I'll remember
That - the 11th of November
Looking through the glass window pane
That beautiful picture met my view
Of a young lady I thought I knew
    And she looked a handsome
Thus by perchance that I had seen
The face fit for any Queen
The like no artist could paint
    And without the least ado
Her head dress went to show
That of a nun or saint.
