   robber died and he was buried near the tunnel in Glengarriff. It is said that about a day or two before his death, he gave the old woman some idea of where he had the money. Every person in the village tried for the money but no trace of it could be found and the treasure is there to this day. The name of the hill in which the money is it is called Connáne hill.

   Many years ago a man by the name of Dan Driscoll, who lived in Scart, was going home from a neighbour's house. As he was going along the road he saw a great big black dog as big as a donkey. The man walked on, but the dog jumped up and bit him in the face, and the man got a bad fright. So he ran home and went to bed. But after a few days he died, and his people said he died of fright, which he got from the
