- The cure the old people had for a burn was to rub soot and bread soda or the white of an egg to it and keep it covered. The cure they had for drawing out a thorn or needle out of one's hand or leg was to put a fox's tongue to it and bandage it and let to to it for a long time. When a nail got into ones leg they used to put the nail in a potato and then the wound would never fester.(continues on next page)
