    "sligthe", and this end was lighted.
    Sometimes rushes were used instead of calico. The outside skin was pealed off, and the soft spongy inside used as a wick. Instead of the "sligthe" pieces of broken pots were often used.
    The oil was called ("geataire caol tréanach")
