- To the north - west of the town of Rosscarbery stand the ruins of an old castle (now used as a farm-house) which castle was built in the 15th Century by a family named Morris.
This Morris was a noted Priest - hunter, and an extreme bigot, and in the building as at present standing can be pointed out the room (a very peculiar structure) where at least two priests were put to death.
One room known as the condemned cell, has an underground stream, beneath a rocky floor. An opening in a rock near by, when closed had the effect of flooding the condemned cell with water and so drowning the victim(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
