- There was once a farmer and he had a sick cow. So one of the neighbours told him to kill the cow and he did.
One day when he was skinning the cow a beggar woman called the way and asked him for alms. So he cut off the cow's head and gave it to her. She thanked him and walked along. She came to the next house and she asked for permission to boil the meat. The woman put the meat in water and I boiled the following day.
The man and his wife went to mass and they left the children and the old woman minding the house. When the meat was boiled the children asked the old woman for some of it. The woman went to the pot and she took off the cover.(continues on next page)- Collector
