    holes, and the irons going down would pack the flax down into the holes. It would get broken up and it would turn into stuff like wool.
    Then it would be spun into thread with a spinning wheel. After it would be struck with the flax tongs, it would be sent to the weaver and he would make sheets of it. Or if they wanted to make blankets of it, they would put a little wool with it, and it would make flannel.
