- Long ago, the Irish children used to play several game by the fire side every winter night. This is one game they usually played named "Dallacán".
All the children gather round in a circle and the oldest child would appoint one of the children to perform the game. Then they all take off their shoes, and put them a hide. They then stow the kitchen, and begin to play. The one appointed gets a cap, and if a cap can not be got they get a big peice of cloth and tie it around his eyes.
All the rest of the children run around after the other's. They would continue on until the end of the night.
