    They got old spades and gave them to the smith and he hammered them into the form of horse-shoes.
    Combs.
    They made them out of the cows' horns.
    First they heated the horns until they were soft, then they shaped them in the form of a comb.
    Nails.
    They got rod-iron and gave it to the smith and he reddened it and shaped it like a nail.
