- Long ago a man was going from this neighbourhood Farelton to Crookstown for lime. He was travelling at midnight with a horse and cart. When about half way on his journey a fairy woman got on to the back of his cart and the horse refused to pull the cart. The horse was sweating and whatever the man did, he couldn't get him to go. He did everything to put the ghostly visitor out of the cart but failed. At last he though of a plan. He took his scapular from his neck and struck the horse with it. The fairy immediately disappeared and the horse resumed his journey.
