All the clergy of the district came to do him honour and conducted him to a church in the neighbourhood where he gave his blessing to vast multitude. At the gate of Macroom Castle he was met by Lady Muskerry ( a sister to Lady Desmond). The Bishop of the Diocese, the Most rev. Dr. O' Connor was the time in a distant part of the diocese administering Confirmation but when he heard of the Nuncio's arrival he hastened to welcome him a present of a fine house.
    After four days spent in Macroom the Nuncio went to Dromsecan the residence of Dermot Mac Carthy. From there he went to Clonmeen the castle of Donaagh O' Callaghan who entertained in a right royal manner the crowds the crowds who flocked to do homage to the great man
