  2. Long ago there was a man who could play any trick he liked with cards. One day his friend asked him how he became so proficient in the art. The former said if he held up the five of diamonds before his eyes when the priest holds up the Blessed Sacrament at Mass he could play any trick he liked with cards. The man did what he was told on the following Sunday at Mass and from that on he could manipulate the cards. Every time after that he used see the five of diamonds when the priest
